About the artist:
J.M. Fusions is owned and operated by glass artist, Jaime M. Lesourd.
Growing up in San Diego, CA, my interest in art began at an early age. I took several art classes as a child. Later I began to experiment with acrylic (plastic). I was fascinated by the resemblance it had to glass and how the light would radiate through the colors.
In 2009, the opportunity arose to attend a basic glass fusing class. Once I began selecting colors and cutting glass, I immediately knew I discovered my passion. I took a second glass fusing class a year later, this time working on my own projects. I knew that working with glass was something I wanted to continue to do. In 2011, I was gifted my first kiln by my husband. In 2012 I open my Etsy store and started off making small dishes, coasters, and magnets. As business started growing and requests for larger custom work started increasing, I decided to enroll into several Interior Design courses. This helps me in designing beautiful pieces of art for a specific spaces in my customer's home.
In 2014, I relocated to El Dorado Hills, CA. Since then I have expanded my knowledge of glass, learned new techniques and have turned my focus to larger custom pieces for residential and commercial commissions.
When I am not working on glass, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Nick, our daughter, Ashlyn, and our cat D'Artagnan (Dart for short). I enjoy gardening, cooking, camping, hiking, and spending time at our home on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Looking ahead, we will be relocating in the summer of 2022 to the town of Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii once our daughter graduates high school. There I plan on getting involved in the art community and hopefully having my artwork in the local art galleries.
